HOW LONG DOES LIP BLUSH TATTOO LAST? 

Lip blushing can last between two to three years depending on the client’s body, skin type and lifestyle. Smoking and sun exposure can speed up the fading process, and if you’re oil-prone, have an iron deficiency or use a lot of exfoliating products in your skin regimen, the pigment could fade more quickly. Lip blushing requires two sessions for the desired color and results. During the first session, the main goal is to neutralize the lips so it is even in color. During the second session, another layer of color is added for color results and longevity.

LIP BLUSHING REQUIREMENTS 

  • You Must NOT be pregnant or breastfeeding (finished breastfeeding for at least 45 days before the lip blushing procedure.)
  • NO botox in lip area or lip fillers 4 weeks prior to the lip blushing procedure.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • If you are prone to or suffer from cold sores on your lip, you need to take an antiviral cold sore medication or a supplement of Lysine. Take this at least 2 weeks prior to your lip blushing appointment and continue to take it until you are done healing. Without taking this precaution, the procedure will cause a flare up.
  • Pre-care and after-care instructions will be provided prior to your first appointment.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A LIP BLUSHING SESSION? 

STEP 1: THE DESIGN Your lips will be designed based on your personal style. Detailed measurements are taken and your lips are penciled on for your approval.
STEP 2: THE COLOR We will help choose the most natural looking color for you. Our colors are custom blended and non-toxic.
Time: 2.5-3 hours (includes paperwork, lip mapping and actual service)
Recommended Frequency: 2 part process consisting of a first session and a touch up session 8-12 weeks later.
Downtime: None! A detailed after-care that needs to be followed. For the first 4-5 days, lips may be sensitive to touch, slightly swollen, appear uneven, and the color may be brighter than desired. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic lip procedures.
Touch-ups: If you want to keep your lips maintained, you should come back every 12-18 months from your last appointment. If you decide not to proceed with a touch-up, your lips will last around 2 years and will eventually fade away. Longevity of your lip blush tattoo will vary per lifestyle and skin type.

WHY DO I NEED A SECOND LIP BLUSH SESSION? 

It will take 2 sessions to complete your desired lip color and ensure longevity. During your 2nd lip blush session, we will not only go over any areas that faded, but the entire lip as well to ensure longevity. By doing this, you won’t need to come in as frequently for touch-ups.
